GUZMANIAS are wonderful bromeliads. They are long lasting, require minimum care and will reward you with long lasting, vibrant color
WHEN YOUR ORDER ARRIVES please unpack the plants and remove the sleeves. Check for any physical damage at this time. If the plants are not going on a job immediately give them a good watering and make sure they are in a bright, airy location. Also, temperature fluctuations should be avoided; a constant 70-80 degrees F is ideal.
THE RIGHT LIGHTING is important to preserve the intense color of guzmanias and therefore length of time on the job. Generally the best light level is about 1,800 foot-candles, which translates into bright light without sunshine. However, bromeliads are resilient and will look great for several months in low light situations
WHEN WATERING do not allow the soil to dry out, however, remember Guzmania do not like "Wet Feet". Water quality is important. It It is best to use distilled or purified water. The lower the light the less they will need to be watered, but remember these are tropical plants and therefore need at least 50% humidity. Spritzing as much as possible can accomplish this.
AVOID EXTREMES IN TEMPERATURE, most thrive in the range of 55-85 degrees F. Placing guzmanias in cold drafts or near heating vents
